Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Performs field and laboratory tests relating to hot mix asphalt, aggregate materials, and concrete.
  • Uses lab instruments to determine pavement compositions.
  • Performs material sampling of asphalt hot mix, aggregates, and concrete.
  • Conducts material testing using TXDOT quality control guidelines.
  • Reviews plans to ensure compliance with testing specifications.
  • Work will be within a field laboratory at the Sullivan City, Texas plant.
Job Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 1 year minimum construction materials testing experience.
  • Currently hold Level 1A AGG101 Certification or able to obtain one within 90 days of hire or as scheduled.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Motivated and self-directed individual with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read plans/specifications highly preferred.
  • Precision in work and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Must be able to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work activities.
  • Ability to work both outdoors in varying weather conditions and indoors.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
